Deep Summer Photo Challenge 22 – The Women

The Deep Photo Challenge contestants were recently announced to compete in a three-day shoot and a once-in-a-lifestyle showcase at Whistler Olympic Plaza. Amongst the contestants were Trish Bromley and Heather Young. We reached out to both of these women for their thoughts and feelings as they enter this prestigious photo challenge.

“The Deep Summer Photo Challenge returns once again to Crankworx Whistler on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, with five pro photographers invited to showcase their slideshows in the contest. This year’s lineup showcases a deeply talented crew, each with their own unique twist on telling the story of mountain biking. The photographers will rally their chosen athlete teams to embark on three days of intense shooting and editing commencing Friday, August 5. Slideshows will be handed in Monday, August 8 at 1 p.m. Then, on Tuesday, August 9, the massive crowd at Whistler Olympic Plaza will experience deep summer in Whistler, through the lenses of six mountain biking storytellers.” – Pink Bike

“I am so honored and hyped to be taking part in Deep Summer this year! It will be my first time in Whistler, and I’m looking at that as an opportunity to capture what it feels like to experience it for the first time, and tell a story through a few of the different people and places that make it such a unique place.” Heather Young

“Beyond freaking stoked – don’t get me wrong. I’m also terrified as I’ve never done anything like this.. but I see soooo many opportunities to learn and I think we grow the most when we’re being challenged. My step mum used to wear a shirt that read, “Whoever smiles first, wins” Soo I’ll grab a bunch of friends, and just go out and play. We’re looking forward to it already!” Trish Bromley
